Area of Paraellograms! (:

Today in geometry, we learned the formula for area of a rectangle, square, and paraellogram. Each of these shapes has the same formula: A=b*h or l*w. (base times height or length times width)  They have the same formula because all of these shapes are classifed as paraellograms!!! For example, Tennessee is the state most similar to a parallelogram and has a length of 440 miles and a width of 120 miles. A=440*120. The area of Tennessee is 52,800 miles squared. The actual area of Tennessee is 42,181 miles squared. Only about 10,00 off! Not big deal!
